Unity Coalition Sponsors “Get Out the Vote” Corvette Caravan
On Sunday, October 11, the Ohio Unity Coalition, an
affiliate of the National Coalition on Black Civic
Participation (NCBCP), partnered with the Competition
Corvette Club of Toledo to sponsor a “Get Out and Vote”
Corvette Caravan. More than three dozen Corvette car owners
gathered at the Ohio Unity Coalition headquarters located at
2903 Dorr St., in the Rocket Center parking lot.
The caravan, organized by Pierrette Talley and other
volunteers, took an established route through the community
starting on Avondale and, during the drive, cruised down
main arteries such as Nebraska, Bancroft, Detroit, Indiana,
Collingwood, Ashland, Lagrange and Manhattan, among others
The Ohio Unity Coalition and the NCBCP, through a Unity 2020
Campaign, have been focused on registering Black voters
before the state deadlines; educating voters about the
importance of verifying their voter registration status to
ensure they have not been purged from the voter rolls; and
encouraging Black voters to make a vote plan to vote
absentee, early or on Election Day, November 3.
The effort is part of a National #RUVote Ready? Campaign
Sponsored by the National Coalition on Black Civic
Participation
