Ashford Fundraiser Brings Supporters to Davis Building
Dozens of supporters
turned out for a Ruth Ashford fundraiser on April 13 at
Salon Onyx in the Davis Building in downtown Toledo.
Ashford is running for the District 4 City Council seat in a
May 6 special election. The seat opened when Mayor Paula
Hicks-Hudson, the previous office holder, took on her
current duties after the death of D. Michael Collins in
February.
Ashford, a first-time
candidate for elected office, is a former financial analyst
with the State of Michigan and a long-time Toledo resident.
She is running against endorsed Democrat Yvonne Harper,
endorsed Republican Alfonso Narvaez, and independent
incumbent Scott Ramsay
