Search Lite Baptist Church and First Presbyterian Church,
both in Maumee, gathered to celebrate women of faith on
Saturday, May 9, 2015. Service began at 11:00 a.m. and
immediately followed with brunch. Guests were encouraged to
wear various types of purple accessories and attire during
the service.
“Rev. Clint and I wanted to bring the two churches together,
worship together and socialize together. Purple is the color
of royalty and appropriate for women of faith,” explained
Rev. Lee Williams, pastor of Search Lite Baptist Church.
Williams of SLBC and Pastor Clint Tolbert of FPC delivered a
warm welcome to guests in attendance, then associate pastor
Emily Mitchell served as worship leader. As the service
continued, guest speaker Rev. Ruby Radford spoke and
encouraged the women in attendance. Rev. Ruby Radford was
installed as Cass Road Baptist Church’s new pastor on May 4,
2014.
“Women are a powerful force within the church. This service
was planned by my wife,” said Williams. |
