Local Girl Scout Council 2016 Kick Off

Saturday, October 8, 2016, the Seagate Centre in downtown
Toledo was filled with Girl Scouts, troop leaders and
volunteers excited about the 2016 program kick off.
Officially called The Big Event, the program provided a full
day of interactive activities, vendors, services from local
businesses, samples and laughter.
Old West End Academy Troop leader Kisha Freeman, walked
around to all the stations with her troop throughout the
day. “I love volunteering with the Girl Scouts, I believe we
have 10 girls from our troop present. So glad to see some
parents and of course my assistant troop leaders here too.
Community partners included: AAA NW Ohio, AJ Archery,
American Academy of Martial Arts, American Red Cross, Appold
Planetarium, BGSU Athletics, Body Fox LLC, Cold Stone
Creamery, Cooper Moon Studio, COSI, Country Lane Tree Farms,
Fab Lab, Field of Dreams Drive In, First Solar, Food for
Thought, Fuzed/Klin formed glass studio, Juliette Low Trail,
Hands on Studio, Heroes in Action, Heroes Party, I stopped
the bully, Imagination Station, Laurel’s Princess Parties,
Toledo Metro Parks, Nature’s Nursery, Pete Bones, Pumpkin
Path, River Lures, Rock & Gem Club, Saisho Con LLC, Salon
institution, Sauder Village, Scrap 4 Art, Schedel Arboretum,
Seagate Food Bank, Snapology of Findlay, Sylvania STEM,
SWIMS, Toledo Area Humane Society, Toledo Ballet, Toledo
Blade, Toledo Botanical Gardens, Toledo Police Museum,
Toledo Lucas County Library, Toledo Mud Hens and Walleye,
Toledo Museum of Art, Toledo Repertoire Theatre, Toledo Zoo,
Total Package Girl, Trophy Nut Company, United Way of
Greater Toledo, UT Athletics, and Venturing Crew 457.
Girl Scout troop member Daijah McCabe, was a first time
attendee and spent the day with her grandmother, Artina
McCabe. “I want to come back next year, this was fun,”
shared Daijah McCabe.
Girl Scouts of Western Ohio follows the national mission of
building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who
make the world a better place. Worldwide 1.9 million girls
and 800,000 adult volunteers bring the mission to life.
