5th Annual
African American Forum on Mental Illness
Alpha Kappa Alpha members collaborated with The National
Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), to hold a forum for the
community to promote and educate African Americans about
mental illness on October 20, 2017 at Glenwood Lutheran
Church. The participants were encouraged to know their
rights when it comes to workplace discrimination, fair
housing, guardianship, CIT(Crisis Intervention Teams/ First
Responders) and patient advocacy.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc,, Zeta Alpha Omega Chapter
of Toledo, Ohio is under the leadership of President Felicia
Dunston and Vice President Morgannia Dawson. The Health
Promotion Target Chairman is Cheryl Wallace.
