Safety Forces Team to Deliver Holiday Baskets
Toledo fire fighters
revved up their fire engines; Toledo police men and women
gunned their cruisers and, on Wednesday, the day before
Thanksgiving, members from both departments engaged in a
friendly contest to see who could deliver the most holiday
baskets to area residents.
Lisa Canales, founder and
president of ANGELS, organized the competition and Fire
Chief Brian Byrd and Police Chief George Kral assembled
members of their forces at the Truth Art Gallery in UpTown
Toledo to start the delivery process at high noon.
The unofficial results for
the race showed that the winners were … the community.
