Jamaican Social
Club of Toledo to Celebrate 40th Anniversary

On November 5, 2016, the Jamaican Social Club of Toledo, a
Non-profit (501) (C-3)Multi-Cultural Organization, will be
celebrate its 40th Anniversary Dinner/Dance and Awards
Presentation, at its Social & Cultural Center, servicing
northwest Ohio and southern Michigan since 1976.
The organization was organized exclusively for charity,
education, social and scientific purposes. Its main focus is
to encourage a better understanding and cooperation among
all cultures and citizens residing in Toledo and northwest
Ohio. All services and time provided by board members are
100 percent voluntary.
It is funded by membership dues, donations, fundraising
programs, sponsorships and charitable contributions from
individuals and businesses.
Among the many services offered by the Organization are
scholarships to High School students in Toledo area for
excellent achievements. Sponsorship of a "Dreams for
Teens" TV talent show designed to enhance students with
exceptional ability to perform competitively. Winners of
this talent competition are offered prizes and scholarships.
Computers, athletic equipments, stationery and pencils are
donated to schools in Jamaica. Assist in devastating
situations, such as hurricane disasters in Jamaica. Periodic
donations are made to Toledo's homeless.
The Jamaican Social Club offers assistance to newly-arrived
Americans to get adjusted to the community as well as
serving as a liaison between the citizens of Toledo and its
authorities and the people and government of Jamaica.
Additionally, the organization hosted several Jamaican
diplomats as well as many other guests from Jamaica;
Toronto, Canada; Baltimore, MD; New York, NY; and
Indianapolis. IN to the city of Toledo.
In recognition of its many services to our community, the
Jamaican Social Club has received several award and
proclamation recognitions from our mayors and
congresspersons servicing our region.
The Jamaica Social Club is extending an invitation to all
its past and current members to join us in
celebrating this significant milestone in our history on
November 5, 2016.
We, also, extend our sincere thanks and gratitude to our
members and supporters who have supported our programs for
the past 40 years. Your continued support will be greatly
appreciated.
