Summer Camp Inclusion Fair to Offer Children with Disabilities an Integrated Experience

The Integrated Summer Camp Inclusion Fair will be held on Wednesday March 29 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Toledo Hospital Auditorium. This fair will allow parents to learn about what camps are available that offer a truly integrated experience so that they can be aware that children with disabilities should have the opportunity to attend a summer camp or after-school program that is not segregated.

The Summer Camp Inclusion Fair will bring together the organizations offering those integrated settings and parents will be able to gather information about: camp opportunities, transportation options and funding sources. The participating organizations are Imagination Station, the Toledo Area Metroparks, Toledo Public Schools, YMCA and Grace Community Center.

The fair is presented by the Afterschool Alliance, Educational Service Center of Lake Erie West and the Lucas County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

For more information about the Summer Camp Inclusion Fair and to ask about transportation assistance contact Deetra Mitchell at (419) 38-5173.
