Leaders Rallied Behind Local Caucus, Announce Formation Of
Statewide Caucus
The month of May entered
early and with a bang as the Lucas County Hispanic Latino
Democratic Caucus (LCHLDC) celebrated Cinco de Mayo and
announced its endorsement of Paula Hicks-Hudson for mayor
at its annual fundraiser on Thursday, April 30, at El Camino
Real at Sylvania and Douglas in Toledo. Lucas County Auditor
Anita Lopez coordinated the evening’s festivities as emcee.

• The formal announcement of
the creation of the Ohio Democratic Party’s Latino Hispanic
Democratic Caucus by Lisa Canales (LCHLDC president)
and Isabel Framer, who was appointed by the Democratic
National Committee and President Barack Obama to serve as
DNC Member At-Large, DNC Credentials Committee Member and
the Secretary/Treasurer of the DNC Hispanic Caucus.

An award presentation to
honor the ongoing accomplishments of Lucas County residents
and Hispanic Latino leaders Usevo “Chevo” Torres, Sue Cuevas
and Ismael “Izzy” Ortiz.
• A special presentation
about the great strides Latino Hispanic residents in
Northwest Ohio are making and their impact on the local,
state and national elections by State Representative Dan
Ramos (D-Lorain).
