By Carla Yvette
Five community members
pooled their support to host a fundraising event for Mayor
Paula Hicks – Hudson, May 14. The event, co-sponsored by
Pariss Coleman, Tina Butts, Richard Mitchell, Mark Looky,
and Bernie Quilter began at the Toledo Club to provide an
opportunity for supporters to meet and engage with
Hicks-Hudson in an intimate environment and ended at Our
Brothers Place where NAACP President Ray Wood introduced
Hicks-Hudson to the crowd of supporters.
Coleman said the purpose
of the fundraiser was to provide an opportunity for people
to get to know and support Hicks –Hudson. He stated, “We
came together as individuals, not representing any one
organization but believe that we represent a tremendous
cross section of Toledo and people in the region who are
very interested in Mayor Hicks-Hudson, mayoral candidate.” |
