Positive Force School of Dance 2012 Production: No Weapon

The Positive Force Christian School of Dance’s 2015 production – No Weapon – was held this past weekend at The Armory Church on Saturday, June 20. The dance company, under the direction of Artistic Director Sheila Gibson, has been hosting such productions since 2003.

This year’s production featured 14 dances, choreographed by Gibson, with help from Giselle Hunt, her daughter.

Gibson, an accomplished performer also, was the owner and choreographer of Giselle’s Dance Theater for eight years prior to the formation of Positive Force.
 

A serious student of dance from an early age, Gibson has trained under Gail Grant, author of the Technical Manual & Dictionary of Classical Ballet, jazz master Gus Giordano and other respected instructors. She also became a model and a model instructor with John Casablanca School of Modeling here in Toledo. She eventually travelled to Europe and co-owned a modeling and dance company in London.

She has accumulated numerous awards for her choreography with various companies. Many of her students have qualified for and have won competitions held by the Dance Educator of America and Star Power National. Several have pursued professional careers in dance.
