The 11th Annual Prayer Breakfast

Once again, the African
American Festival got off to an early start with a prayer
breakfast held on Friday morning, July 17. This year’s event
was held at Bethlehem Baptist Church and featured prayers
offered by a host of area ministers, song selections by
Darius Coleman and a tribute to a number of honorees.
The Toledo Urban Federal
Credit Union, under the leadership of CEO Suzette Cowell,
organizes the annual event.
This year’s honorees
included: Toledo Mayor Paula Hicks-Hudson; Rhoda
Adams-Allen; Rev. Derek Arnold; Mike Baumgartner; Rev.
Sheila Early; Rosalind Welch; Sis. Virginia Welsh; Rev.
Timothy Pettaway, Sr; Brittany Smith and Ray Wood.
Those offering prayers at
the breakfast were: Rev. Cordell Jenkins, pastor of Abundant
Life Ministries; Rev. Robert Lyons, Sr., pastor of Greater
St. Mary’s Baptist; Rev. Stanley Clark, pastor of United
Visisons Church; Bishop M.C. McGhee, pastor of Serenity
Church; Elder Alisa Key of People’s Missionary Baptist
Church; Rev. Timothy Pettaway, pastor of Walk the Word and
Bishop Brehon Hall, pastor of Greater New Psalmist Church.
