People’s Choice Awards Honor Local Artists
The first
annual People’s Choice Awards, hosted by Bonita and James
Adams, was both a celebration and a competition. The
playwright and her producer husband honored local artists
and cultural icons on Sunday, August 16 at the Great Hall of
the Stranahan Theater and also held a contest for local
musical talent.
Imelda
Hunt, Ph.D; Clarence Smith, Cynthia Valentine, Shawanda
Johnson and the KGB Band were among the honorees.
In the
competition, J4V took first place and Hunter Pray was the
runner-up
