Mercy College Enrollment Increases
Mercy College of Ohio President,
Susan C. Wajert, PhD, announced fall 2015 enrollment has
increased at Mercy College with 1244 students enrolled. This
is an overall four percent increase from fall 2014. The
Toledo campus enrollment increased by .6 percent with 1067
students, while the Youngstown enrollment increased 34
percent with 177 students compared to 132 students in fall
2014.
Wajert adds, “I’m very pleased
with the positive enrollment numbers.” She notes that both
the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) programs have
undergone significant changes, which she anticipates will
increase enrollment in the future. “The pre-licensure
program (for those who are not RNs) moved to a concept-based
curriculum with a May start, and the online RN-BSN
completion program recently moved to a streamlined
curriculum that can be completed in a year. Growth in the
healthcare field is expected to continue and Mercy College
students are provided with a high-quality education ensuring
a well-prepared graduate who can enter the dynamic
healthcare environment.”
