A Byrd’s Eye View of Fathers:
Soulcial Scene Special
A gallery reception for Ambershaun Byrd, Toledo photographer
and owner of “aByrdseyephoto Productions,” was held at the
Sanger Branch Library June 16, 2015 to showcase her Dad&Me
Project.
The
gallery of her photos is being showcased at the Sanger
Branch Library during the month of June, in honor
of Father’s Day. The goal of the project, which was
started in 2013,
was to highlight fathers in a positive light.
“I aim
to provide a
pleasant, memorable experience for fathers with their
children,” says Byrd,. “And produce a product that
visually combats the negative media presentation of
black males, and fathers.”
Byrd
says, in all of her family portrait sessions, she makes it a
point to capture
the fathers alone with the children. Pictures are
posted on the aByrdseyephoto media
pages,
with a brief bio of dad and his accomplishments when
possible. |
