“This was my first year participating in the classic. The
opening ceremony was nice and seniors should sign up to
attend next year,” explained Pat Lyons.
Lyons’s husband saw the classic advertised in a local
newspaper and urged his wife to sign up. She’s an avid
bowling and participates in a senior bowling league. “I
participated in horseshoes and bowling. I love sports and
even ran into a friend that I hadn’t seen in years,” said
Ms. Lyons.
The Area Office on Aging and The Blade presented the event
in collaboration with sponsors Aetna, CPW Health Center,
BCSN, YMCA and JCC, and Mobile Care Group. The 2016 sports
classic is scheduled for June 11, 2016. Contact the Area
Office on Aging for details.
